Goals & Progress
Goals & Progress
Goals & Progress would be a feature in the WeMasterTrade dashboard that helps traders set trading goals, track their progress, and measure consistency over time.
The main idea is not just to show whether a trader made profit or loss. It should show how close the trader is to their personal targets and whether they are following their trading plan consistently.
1. Goal Setting
The trader should be able to create different types of goals.
Profit Goal
For example:
- Monthly Profit Target: $1,000
- Current Profit: $650
- Progress: 65%
The dashboard could display:
🎯 Monthly Profit Goal
$650 / $1,000
65% Completed
2. Daily Goals
Traders could set daily targets.
For example:
Daily Profit Goal: $100
If the trader makes $75:
Daily Progress: $75 / $100
75% Completed
This allows the trader to see their progress throughout the day.
Importantly, the platform should treat a profit target as a goal, not a requirement to keep trading. A trader could reach their goal early and simply stop or continue according to their own plan.
3. Risk Management Goals
Goals should not be limited to profit.
A trader could create risk-related goals such as:
- Maximum daily loss: $50
- Maximum risk per trade: $25
- Maximum trades per day: 5
- Maximum drawdown: $200
The system could track whether the trader stayed within these limits.
For example:
Risk Management Goal
Maximum Daily Loss: $50
Today’s Loss: $30
Status: 🟢 Within Limit
4. Consistency Goals
This could be one of the most useful parts of the feature.
Instead of only focusing on money, traders could set goals related to following their trading plan.
Examples:
- Follow risk rules for 20 trading days
- Keep risk per trade below $50
- Complete trading journal after every trade
- Avoid exceeding maximum daily trades
- Maintain a predefined minimum R:R
Example:
📅 Consistency Goal
Followed trading rules: 16 / 20 days
Progress: 80%
This encourages traders to focus on their process rather than only their P/L.
5. Goal Progress Bar
Each goal could have a visual progress bar.
For example:
Monthly Profit
$700 / $1,000
██████████████░░░░░░ 70%
Trading Discipline
18 / 20 days
██████████████████░░ 90%
Journal Completion
42 / 50 trades
█████████████████░░░ 84%
This makes the dashboard easy to understand at a glance.
6. Weekly and Monthly Progress
The system could provide different time periods.
Daily
- Today’s P/L
- Daily target
- Number of trades
Risk used
Weekly
- Weekly P/L
- Weekly goal
- Win rate
- Trading days
Rule-following percentage
Monthly
- Monthly P/L
- Monthly target
- Maximum drawdown
- Total trades
- Consistency score based on predefined metrics
For example:
September Progress
Profit: $720 / $1,000
Trading Days: 16 / 20
Journal Completion: 92%
Risk Rule Compliance: 88%
7. Goal Milestones
The platform could divide larger goals into milestones.
For example:
Monthly Target = $1,000
Milestones:
- 🟢 $250 — 25%
- 🟢 $500 — 50%
- 🟡 $750 — 75%
- 🎯 $1,000 — 100%
When a milestone is reached, the dashboard could display:
🎉 Milestone Reached
You have completed 75% of your monthly goal.
These notifications should be informational rather than encouraging unnecessary additional trading.
8. Goal Adjustment
Trading conditions and personal strategies can change, so the trader should be able to modify goals.
For example:
Current Goal
Monthly Target: $1,000
The trader could change it to:
Monthly Target: $800
The system should clearly record when the goal was changed so the historical data remains understandable.
9. Goal Categories
A complete Goals & Progress feature could have four main categories:
💰 Financial Goals
- Daily profit target
- Weekly profit target
Monthly profit target
🛡️ Risk Goals
- Maximum daily loss
- Maximum drawdown
- Risk per trade
Maximum trades
📊 Performance Goals
- Win rate
- Average R:R
- Profit factor
Average winning trade
🧠 Discipline Goals
- Follow trading plan
- Complete trading journal
- Avoid overtrading
- Stay within risk limits
10. Goals Dashboard
The main screen could look something like this:
11. Progress Summary
At the end of each week or month, the system could generate a simple summary:
Your Weekly Progress
🎯 Profit Goal: 82% completed
🛡️ Risk Goal: 95% followed
📊 Performance Goal: 78% completed
📝 Journal Goal: 90% completed
Overall Progress: 86%
Rather than giving a single “good/bad” judgment, the dashboard can show the underlying metrics so the trader can decide what needs attention.
12. Why Goals & Progress Is Useful for WeMasterTrade
The main value of this feature is that it changes the dashboard from simply showing:
“How much money did I make?”
to also showing:
“Am I progressing toward my goals, and am I following my trading process?”
It can help traders monitor:
Set Goal → Track Activity → Measure Progress → Review Results → Adjust Plan
Example
A trader sets:
- Monthly Profit Goal: $1,000
- Maximum Daily Loss: $50
- Maximum Trades: 5/day
Journal Completion: 90%
Goal Target Actual Progress
Profit $1,000 $850 85%
Risk Compliance 20 days 19 days 95%
Max Trades ≤5/day Average 4.2 Within target
Journal 90% 94% Above target
